Summary
WakeMode is a set of free tools that run in your browser. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no forms. We don't ask for your name or email address, and the tools don't send what you type or set to us.
Who we are
WakeMode is available at wakemode.net. If you have a question about this policy, email us at hello@wakemode.net.
What stays on your device
Some tools remember your settings so they are ready next time. These settings are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We can't see them, and they never contain personal information.
| Key | What it remembers |
|---|---|
wm:theme |
Light, dark or automatic appearance |
wm:keepawake:last |
The last duration you picked in Keep Screen Awake |
wm:clock:prefs |
Fullscreen Clock options, such as 12/24-hour and night style |
wm:pomodoro:settings |
Pomodoro lengths, long-break interval and alert choices |
wm:worldclock:zones |
The cities in your World Clock and the 12/24-hour choice |
wm:pwa:install-dismissed |
That you dismissed the "Add WakeMode to your device" message, so it isn't shown again |
You can remove them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for wakemode.net.
The homepage includes videos embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube's own privacy policy applies when you play them.
Browser permissions
- Screen Wake Lock. Keep Screen Awake and some other tools ask your browser to keep the screen on, only after you press Start. Nothing about this is sent to us.
- Notifications. The Pomodoro Timer can show a notification when a phase ends. Your browser asks for permission only when you turn this on, and you can withdraw it in your browser settings.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Lovable. Like any website, when you load a page your browser sends technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. The hosting provider may keep this in server logs for security and to keep the service running. We don't use these logs to identify you.
Analytics (to be added at launch)
We plan to use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand which tools are used and how the site performs. It is switched off today.
When it is on:
- It loads only after the page has finished loading, and only as your consent choice allows. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, it loads only after you accept analytics.
- We send only these usage events: pages viewed, which tool was opened, when keep-awake, a timer, the stopwatch, the Pomodoro Timer or the screen test starts, stops or is interrupted, fullscreen use, app installs and button clicks such as "Email us".
- Durations are sent as rough ranges, such as "15 to 30 minutes", never exact times. We never send names, email addresses, anything you type or raw error messages.
- Google receives technical data from your browser, such as your IP address, device type and approximate location, and may set analytics cookies when you allow them. Google's own privacy policy applies to that data.
The purpose is measurement only: seeing which tools are useful and fixing problems.
Advertising (to be added at launch)
We plan to show ads through Google AdSense to keep WakeMode free. Ads will never appear in or beside the tools themselves. Where the law requires it, personalized ads will be shown only with your consent; otherwise you may see non-personalized ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads.
Consent (to be added at launch)
We will use Google's certified consent message. Until you choose, analytics and advertising storage are set to "denied" by default in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, using Google Consent Mode. To decide whether to show the message, the site checks which country you are in from your connection. That check isn't stored.
Your choice is kept by Google's consent message so you aren't asked on every visit. You can change or withdraw it at any time with the "Privacy settings" link in the footer, which appears once the consent message is live. Withdrawing applies straight away to anything sent afterwards.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its use. Because we don't hold accounts or contact details, most data about you stays in your browser, where you control it. For data held by Google, use Google's own tools. For anything else, email hello@wakemode.net.
Children
WakeMode is a general-audience site and isn't directed at children under 13.
